AI Discovery Ledger

A ledger of claims that an AI system made a discovery — logged when the claim appears, then tracked as checking actually happens. The headline never outruns the status. If it hasn't been verified, the ledger says so, in the headline's own row.

Editorial rule — discoveries only No product launches, no funding news, no benchmark bragging without a checkable claim. Every entry needs a precise claim, a primary source, a contribution label, and a status. When an outcome lands — a replication, a correction, a withdrawal — it is appended to the history, never edited in.

The seven statuses — nothing stronger than the evidence

Every claim carries exactly one status from this taxonomy. A status can only move when a dated outcome is added to its history, with attribution for who assessed it.

Age board & re-check sweep

Every claim still being tracked gets a re-check due date when logged — a claim stays tracked even after an outcome lands (verified, peer-reviewed, corrected), because outcomes can themselves change. Only withdrawn closes an entry. The sweep runs on a schedule: any tracked claim past its due date is flagged here until someone re-checks the primary source and appends what they found — even if the finding is “nothing new.” “Resolved this month” below means an outcome landed this month; it does not mean the entry closed.
